I found the formula for being an amazing and successful hairstylist.
Listen, talk , discuss and LISTEN to what the client wants.
I had 20 new clients last month and I took the time to look them straight in the eye (not the mirror)
and ask them what they wanted and what they didn’t want.
Every single one commented how nice it was that I took the time to listen to them.
And how they hadn’t experienced that in the past.
I then explained what I was going to do and why.
Of course it is important to be able to achieve the desired result your client wants through good color formulation and precision cutting
but if you want to really impress them listen to what they have to say.

After much review it looks like the hottest summer style for hair is The Wet Look.
Honestly, what could be easier?
Slicked it back with some leave in conditioner and let it dry loosely thru the ends or comb it back in a wet pony with some light gel or styling cream.
You will look super put together and fashion forward with either style.
I can’t think of a better women to Top The Maxim 100 List. Bar Refaeli is just naturally gorgeous and I’ve always loved her sun
kissed highlights that are never to platinum.
Vidal Sassoon is the most influential business man
and artist that the hair industry has ever seen. He will be greatly missed. I know his spirit and artistry will live on in all stylist
like myself who trained at his schools and have idolized his work.
This is the weeks second great loss in hair styling. My friend and local hairstyling Icon Sharon Perry, owner of The Canyon Salon in Westlake Village, passed away yesterday after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer.
She will also be greatly missed!
Cate Blanchett, Carey Mulligan and Emma Stone get my vote for best hair styles at the 2012 Met Gala.
I’m so glad to see actresses wearing their hair up again. It is so much more classy and sophisticated to wear your tresses up to event like the Met Gala.”
I believe this spring/summer we will be seeing more young ladies wearing their hair up for Proms, weddings and other social events.

Cindy Lauper has been a favorite since I was a young girl.
I just love how over the years she has stayed true to her rocker look and individual style.
She may be the only 50 year old women who could color ther hair pink or red and make it look totally age appropriate.
And Kim, she always looks great!
